Bramble Scramble

After waiting a year to get permission to work on NRW land, the volunteer group wanted to take on a project on private land, and a opportunity arrived to build something in Bryn Bettws Campsite, the overview was to build something for both beginners and intermediate riders. It started with checking the ground, most of which was good to build on but was engulfed with brambles and bracken that needed a week of strimming to clear, along with another week of raking it and removing the brambles.  Once the land was cleared, we started the bottom line, building in a few big sweeping berms, and splitting the line to have two different types of trail, one was simple berms and fairly flat trail, the next trail was small rock drops and a small rock garden leading into a huge berm. We also decided on doing a small jump line to allow beginners to get used to going up and over jumps which compliments the much bigger jumps in the bike park across the road. The top of the trail was built on flat land, with two lines running down, one with small berms and rollers and the other with a skinny balance rail, leading into a small wood drop and a seesaw before the tracks merge into to the track at the bottom. The track has loads of different lines, and plenty to play on as you progress your skills. There is a spot for a BBQ and fire while you watch your friends ride.
