Genesis

After many hours of hard labour, we were very proud to reopen the old Genesis section on the Penhydd trail at Afan Argoed.

Genesis is a section of trail that was closed for around 10 years but took 3-months of graft to repair. This section serves as a link-up section to create a longer overall loop incorporating both the Penhydd and Bluescar routes.

The section is only 200m long but packs a punch. Starting with a small rock drop rolling into polished berms before heading through the ancient wall that runs down the mountain. After this, a few more berms run down towards a slight drop into a small double roller that you can either roll or pop over. From the end of the trail, you climb back up the fire road and connect to the Bluescar route.
